Loft apartment with mezzanine and sage-green joinery, Dubai
The Muse is a compact loft apartment in Dubai where the brief was to make a single double-height volume work as living room, study, guest space, and storage without feeling crowded. The answer was a freestanding oak box: a mezzanine sleeping platform sits above a wall of sage-green joinery, reached by an oak stair that doubles as display shelving.
The green cabinetry wall hides wardrobes, a concealed desk, and the media unit, so the floor stays clear. A slim steel column in matching green carries the mezzanine and reads as a deliberate line rather than a structural compromise. Terrazzo flooring runs through the apartment, with a warm timber inlay marking the lounge zone under the platform.
Rounded bouclé armchairs, a mustard pouf, and a shaggy rug soften the geometry of the joinery, while a curved black floor lamp and framed abstract print add contrast. The palette of sage, oak, grey, and cream keeps the small footprint calm and lets the architecture of the loft stay the focus.
